The Harriman-Jewell Series presented the preeminent tenor in his electric American recital debut in April 2002, and he returned in January 2004, with a dazzling sold-out performance. The 35-year-old Peruvian singer’s fame continues to escalate as critics have dubbed Flórez “the new king of the high C's,” in comparison to the late tenor Luciano Pavarotti, who sang his professional recital debut for the Harriman-Jewell Series in 1973. |
